For the medical students... Preparing for the Finals

Time is flying as you know it. At once instant you found yourself at the year's beginning and now months have passed and finally were stepping into September the time of Annual send ups and professional examinations.
Feeling depressed over your year's performance? well this is something natural. Medical college is a place where every body is a genius and a hard worker in the purest meaining of the word. But alas the examination and trial system of medical colleges
leave many of the capable people wondering if they even fit into this place!
This happens with almost every body. What i learned through my experience is that
no matter how hard work you do the end result depends on the tactics rather than hard work you used during the year. One of the secrets of leading in the class is proper management and tactically preparing for the tests rather than doing 3 or 4 books and "ratafying" them all.
So here are the tactics that i have seen our toppers use:
1. Research about the test syllabus:
A very important task you must inquire about previous papers, important questions. Contact seniors. Many of you will think they'll be able to do much better on their own but the reality is opposite. Yes you can do well but you don't just have to push forward in order to score, rather you have to go tactically sneak by obstacles and eventually ease your way through the obstacles. So, stop being arrogant and start consulting seniors. Always consult more than one senior. Check out past papers too.

2.Devise a sound study plan:
After getting knowledge about the paper pattern and important questions devise a plan and arrange topics of which to do first and which to do last. Don't arrange them from important to unimportant. Rather shuffel them according to their relation with each other. For example if you are preparing upper limb of anatomy then do it after you do Thorax as all the main blood vessels , nerves and even musculature (shoulder) is coming from that region.

3.Execution:
This is the most difficult step. For this you require a lot of "willpower" and "stamina". Also keep drinking water. Feeling sleepy? I can understand thats the most difficult part so in order to control that I suggest you sleep at least one hour in noon, eat less, but do eat! and finally try to wake up early. Early morning is the best time to study though most of us can never get up. But in order to achieve something you have to sacrifice something. Go to bed by 12 at night. See in order to keep up the work keep in mind that by all this hard work you will be able achieve good marks.

For those of you who are only giving exams to get passing marks. Trust me guys, you don't wanna do that. Unless you keep your aims high, you always end up failing or if by luck you do pass it will earn you nothing.

The importance of knowledge:
This medical knowledge is something that will aid you in saving lives. In fact a doctor has nothing of use except his knowledge. So, stop passing your time in medical colleges and start with some new endeavors. And if your main objective is to make money out of this field than you no matter how much money you make it won't ever be able to satisfy you. So stop thinking of other stuff and concentrate on knowledge.

Anyways good luck for the exams everyone. Remember getting knowledge is more important than marks so in the end if you are unable to achieve good marks, just remember that you have worked hard for it and if not now, you will get your reward in the future.
